Kiko Pangilinan to ex-LP members: Bawal ang balimbing

Senator Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan is firm on rejecting former Libreal Party (LP) members who made shift to enter other political parties when President Rodrigo Duterte came to power.

In his speech during the LP's  72nd anniversary, Pangilinan was optimistic that the party will regain its former glory in the future.

“I am asked if those who left would be allowed back later. If it were up to me, I won’t allow those who left to come back,” he said.

The party's rank shrunk down after former President Benigno Aquino III ended his term as some of the politicians wanted to be associated with the Duterte administration in order to survive.

Pangilinan however said that LP will continue tow ork despite having less members compared during the PNoy administration.

“We in the Liberal Party, we have been through hell and back. And we in the Liberal Party, to borrow and paraphrase the words of the poet Dylan Thomas: ‘We will not go quietly into this dark night,'” he said.
